Last night was disappointing, but I’m not done fighting for a brighter future for ALL. One thing my parents taught me is how to not quit. I’ll announce more soon!

Two things can be true at once: The Iranian regime is evil, and there may have been a strong rationale for the strike (I don’t have access to classified intelligence). Our system of checks and balances is essential to our democracy and the President is systematically dismantling it.
My response to a question about changes to VA disability ratings based on how people function on medication. The policy was so unpopular that it was rescinded but it doesn't change the underlying point that this administration looks for cruelty. www.facebook.com/share/v/1Dmy...

This is what happens when we allow a government agency to act without oversight. Thomas is right, we are only scratching the surface of what’s being done under the cover of darkness.
We only know about the ICE murders caught on camera. There are so many more.
John Lewis taught us that when we stand together we win, even in the face of great evil.
On his birthday, we honor the legacy of John Lewis.

Americans don’t want Canada, Venezuela, or Greenland. They want to be able to afford groceries and have lower health care costs.
I fear we are losing our ability to be outraged by Trump's incessant corruption - the latest being his threat to throw Jay Powell in jail unless he adopts Trump's interest rate policy. Trump doesn't stop trying to be an autocrat. And we shouldn't stop being outraged by it.
House Republicans just passed their so-called health care plan. This bill fails to lower health care costs before the end of the year. There is only one real solution: Extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits.
These people are either stupid or think we are all stupid (or both). Higher interest rates on treasuries are not a good thing.
It's official - I am on the ballot! I'm ready to step up and provide real leadership for our communities. Your support will mean everything as we enter the critical next phase. Please donate today to continue building into the New Year and beyond. secure.actblue.com/donate/26sch....
You may think I’m healthy, I don’t need insurance, but will it always be that way? The problem with catastrophic only plans is that preventive and routine care reduce the probability, intensity and cost of a catastrophe.
The challenge with insurance is that individual purchasing decisions affect the group. If healthy people opt out then everyone left pays more. This causes others to drop out, again raising prices for everyone left. The cycle continues until the few people who remain are effectively uninsured.
Corporate tax cuts. Estate tax cuts. Overseas income tax cuts. Pass through business tax cuts. These are all tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy that Trump wasn’t willing to let expire. But ACA tax credits to protect health care? Forget about it.
As MAGA is so concerned with government subsidies for ACA health plans, it’s important to note that the government also subsidizes employer sponsored plans through a tax break for the employer contribution. The total cost of that tax break is over three times the cost of the ACA subsidies. ≈
“Trump’s “plan” to bypass insurance companies shows a complete lack of understanding of how insurance works. Smaller risk pools increase variance and raise costs. He wants risk pools of 1 - effectively eliminating insurance for anyone that doesn’t have it through an employer or Medicare."
Today is Election Day, and while we aren’t on the ballot just yet, there are many important local races taking place. Whether it’s for a School Board candidate, City Councilor, or any position that matters to you - make sure you vote and make your voice heard

When we cut SNAP benefits, we hurt both the families who need the food and the farmers who sell it. We should ask for competent and compassionate leaders from the local level to the federal level. That's why I want to represent my district in Texas blue. Help if you can! www.schwabfortexas.com
