I'm struck by how *frightened* this guy appears. The agitation in his voice, the rapid-fire speech, the constant hand movements, the way he cuts off and quickly walks away. It's a basic rule of human nature: you only hate things that you fear. And you only fear things that you don't understand.

I’ve started referring to them as language models again. Somehow suggesting a language model is conscious seems weirder to people than saying an “AI” is; it escapes this particular coin trick.

Very disappointing from the new Prime Minister, very much sounding like the previous PM. These are among the world’s most vulnerable and desparate people. They need safe routes and humanity from responsible politicians, not grandstanding. This isn’t doing politics differently.

She was part of the group whose GCSEs were cancelled. It was a fair and sympathetic article, focusing on the teens' concerns

Godzilla #7, 1978, art by Herb Trimpe & Fred Kida. The worst era of printing quality for Marvel; they were using plastic plates. Look at the enlarged, cleaned-up panel. It's so well drawn by Trimpe, and Kida's inks are delicate and detailed. What a shame work of this calibre got so badly mangled.

I was buying Incredible Hulk religiously through most of the 70s and I only missed one issue. Sigh.
