When the story of why humanity didn't stop climate change is written, it will feature front pages like this. Even as the skies blacken with climate change-induced wildfires, right wing media continue their relentless crusade against measures to tackle it.
I see Labour MPs still announcing stuff on X, a platform specifically designed to make people hate them, 100% shaped to push them out of public life and which would ideally see many of them in prison. Funny old world.

Given the BBC have a largely sensible set of guidelines on the use of quant polling in news stories, including a ban on a poll being a story in itself, it's always so baffling they have next-to-no similar rules on what is ultimately rudimentary qual polling. It's an insane double-standard.

Pet peeve: talk of millennials, gen X etc is silly. A better qn (if you want one) is Napoleon's: how did the world look to someone aged 20? One born in 65 saw mass unemployment at 20; one in 1980 had a boom, internet & mobile phones. Yet both are called gen X. This is daft.
The “Blue Labour” strategy still being promoted by some on Labour right is premised on being able to win social conservatives while holding on to social liberals. Failure state for this strategy is failing to win social cons while alienating social liberals. Here is a map of that failure state:
For all of the whining about the triple lock the reality remains that British state pensions are both less generous and accordingly more ’affordable’ than most peer nations. Which is why the triple lock was brought in in the first place.
