It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

Sooooo, Amazon has cancelled my pre-order of "Kaiju Agonistes" for reasons that I successfully argued were in error. Unfortunately, they can't un-cancel it, so I need to re-list it tonight. Their customer service was surprisingly quick and helpful. Sorry about this. Will update later today.

This has always been the case. “Go Woke, Get Broke” has always been clownish untruth. No movie has ever failed because of Black folks, POC, LQBTQ+, or women. There are a myriad of other reasons why some movies fail to connect. But bigoted chuds don’t have that kind of power.

This stuff feels almost too good. It's good stuff I didn't even think of that in retrospect is obviously a great idea. Of course our public spaces should be available to the people who work at night!

Urgent freelance art commission! My previous arrangement has fallen through, so I need someone who can look at this sad lil' placeholder kaiju and whip up a proper, looming, nicely lit and atmospherically appropriate monster I can place into this same composition. Feel free to reply here- THREAD 🧵

everyone has an answer to this and they’re probably all at least partially correct, but mine is that he doesn’t understand art, he doesn’t value it, and he doesn’t think it’s worth paying for. that’s true of most of our tech billionaires but he’s the distilled version of their contempt for humanity

Societies rightly spend a lot of money on regulating drug trials. Allowing large scale betting on these trial outcomes just creates incentives to distort findings. This should be immediately legislated out of existence.

Prediction market platform Kalshi will start taking bets on the outcomes of clinical trials and FDA regulatory reviews, it said on Thursday, making drug-development odds public for the first time.
