If all Amazon do with Bond is make TV series like Bait and Ride Or Die that are basically all the "what if Bond wasn't white/male" variations forever then I'll be fine with that.
Here is a big clue as to what is coming up next on Clay Pipe Music. @andrewwasylyk.bsky.social and @surfacepressure.bsky.social have written a soundtrack to the 1925 horror Phantom of the Opera and will be taking it across the country to these cinemas. All the info: ▶️ awtp.surfacepressure.net
www.mixcloud.com/eops/i-belie... A mix made for a radio show during the apex of the heatwave, these are all downtempo classics that sound just right in the heat. I liked it so much I decided to do an extended version without me talking all over the top of it. Some beautiful tunes on here, enjoy. ☀️

Tremendous long read for all fans of HMHB.
Your Monday edition is en route. In the meantime, why not check out our second of two great weekend reads? This one's a brilliant personal essay by David Lloyd, recounting his time in the mighty Half Man Half Biscuit. www.livpost.co.uk/i-was-nt-a-t...
This is brilliant, (the explanation is in the replies).
We’re very open about our vampires round here
With the new Radio 6i (Indie Forever) BBC Radios 1-6 is now a total of 15 stations and much as I do love the Beeb I'm not entirely sure that's the best use of the licence fee.
My first Pride living in Brighton and my favourite thing is all the charity shops that are making exceptional window displays from whatever they have in. Another joy is the independent shops closed for the day because the staff have all gone out partying. Even out in Hove the atmosphere is amazing.
When they write the book on the death of the Conservative Party the fact that Badenoch won because Grant Shapps can't count will probably get it's own chapter.
Tories beaten by Restore, which is basically one aging racist with a Facebook page. The Keminaissance in action.
Probably the best I've seen Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds since Grinderman days, and I've really enjoyed a few since Mick Harvey left. That was something else though.
🎈Love Will Save the Day FM is 3! 🎈 For a community run, community funded station this a really big milestone. We've also just launched our shiny new website where you can tune in live right now to hear a live party from Cosmic Bob and a whole bunch of our regulars. www.lovewillsavetheday.fm

Really glad to see this has been getting a little more love recently. It's like a whose-who of genuinely inventive contemporary composers and experimentalists you don't know but probably should: difficultartandmusic.bandcamp.com/album/i-only...

Just seen the sad news that Bozz from Hiem/All Seeing I has died. I didn't know him well - we got chatting once in a record shop and from then used to bump into each around Sheffield and it was always dead nice to see him. Never pushed his music on you when he had every right to do so.

One thing missing from the adult social care debate is about the spending needed to avoid more people needing care, particularly as they age. 15min neighbourhoods, more walking routes, more investment in buses, more ways to live an active life as you get older. It's as important as care homes.
MACCA GOES WEIRD! Join me on BBC 6Music’s The Freakzone Playlist at midnight, 6th August. I’ve selected plenty of Paul McCartney’s stranger things. Giddy for this to air. Reposts appreciated. Tune in, Paul! @reaktionbooks.bsky.social @stuartmaconie.bsky.social #6Music #PaulMcCartney

Baby seagull update. Fell off the roof again and is pottering around in the neighbour's back garden. Waiting for someone with a giant pole with a net on the end to scoop it back up and pop it back on the chimney breast. Daft little sod.
Seagull is not just back on the roof but pottering around, flapping his wings and hopefully this time when he tries it he'll actually take off.
I had no idea Emily Wilson was the daughter of AN Wilson. The fake Betjeman letter is one the best things ever done in the name of academic feuding.
Re the Emily Wilson discourse - her Dad (A N Wilson) was the king of literary feuds. A good family tradition. Best one was his feud with Bevis Hillier who hoaxed him into including a fake letter in his biography of Bejteman where the first letter of each sentence spelt "AN Wilson is a shit".
This is a great review, really interesting take on why the new Charli XCX is so good.
