This reminds me of the absolutely amazing 1998 miniseries Ultraviolet. They had cameras attached to handguns to see if whoever they were pointing the guns at were vampires, as vampires could not be recorded on film. The vampires also had to carry text-to-speech machines to talk on the phone.
