Two nights ago, I was worried I wouldn't be able to get a good night's sleep because I had been sick in bed all day and slept most of it through. No no. That's fine. Just save it all up for tonight. Been lying in this damn bed for 4 hours now. Coulda gotten something done, god dammit.

The sad part about the "we can always tell" transphobic bigots or fake allies is that when you think you can usually tell and you apply the same yardstick to all women, you start to see the infinite variety of cis women out there and how this yardstick could be used against everyone

When FrontPage came out, people told me writing HTML by hand was dead and I was going to get left behind. Turns out they were the ones who got left behind when their skills in some other companies' product didn't transfer through the years. And I still write HTML by hand.

The fact that shit like this still happens on live TV really torpedos the whole idea that the media is controlled by liberals. Shane Gillis exists, despite *numerous* "cancelable" (there's another myth for you) offenses, because someone else is putting in massive effort to keep him on TV.

I realize it often feels like nothing matters anymore, but a comedian going on SNL and calling women whores— calling the ordinary women he sees at the gym *whores* — because of their clothes matters to me. It’s really gross, and I’m glad Levy said something.

When I first heard about AI being used for menus and advertisements, my concern was largely that it would be used to idealize the food and make it look better than it actually was. At no point did I imagine that restaurants would willingly put out horrific looking images of their food on purpose

"AI is just a tool": then why are companies mandating it's use? If the company is so worried about my productivity, there were several opportunities for it to purchase me share licenses that would have helped with my job and they flat refused, saying tooling was my own responsibility.

Just bumping into this again with people _reflexively_ using the word "grape" or a 🍇 emoji and not even realizing they're doing it. It's all part of the same system, where the men running these companies make platforms that don't even let people accurately describe the crimes that they enable.

It’s a very minor point amongst the far greater injustices of the situation, but the Cornell case has also just reminded me how much all of society seems to have just accepted the fact that big tech won’t allow people to use the word “rape”. (Or at least people *believe* so — nobody knows!)

Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

The thing I love about British spy shows compared to ours, is that in every US spy show, you've got Jim from the office with a tale of how based the CIA is, and how muslims are going to blow you up, and every UK spy show is like 'yeh mi5/mi6 are all cold corrupt monsters'.
