But hosepipe bans can be frustrating, especially when there is so little governance around water usage by data centres. Yet, when it comes to data centres, the Taoiseach is just sticking his head in the sand.

Thankfully we'll still be able to download our previously purchased games, but this SUCKS! Considering the move away from physical, this just highlights the importance of physcial media and being able to have long term access to the art we pay for. Disaster.

Data centre electricity demand is projected to exceed the entire power consumption of the state. Already, data centres are adding an estimated €1.6 billion to Irish households’ electricity bills, while paying around half the rate charged to ordinary consumers. This model is unsustainable.
Yesterday, I spent the morning in Uragh, a fragment of ancient Beara rainforest. It's part of less than 1/1,000th of Ireland with pre-1600 woodland. I've been highlighting the plight of this uniquely special ecosystem for years now, leading to government promises of action. So, how is it doing?
I've got to start returning things to the library, this is getting ridiculous 😅 Holding on to a few of these to take photos as references, which I will finally do now 😅
