A vile man with no understanding of sportsmanship or honor, spoiling every sporting contest he comes near with the stench of his corruption.
Don't want to speak ill of the dead, so getting this Mitch McConnell take out now. He saw Trump with complete clarity, as a danger to America, but protected him anyway. Perhaps more than anyone, he had the power to end Trumpism, but chose party over country. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/jan-6-and-...
5-4 instead of 9-0. Just a completely illegitimate institution at this point.
The Supreme Court strikes down Trump's attack on birthright citizenship. By a 5–4 vote, it holds that the 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to children born of unauthorized and temporary immigrants. Roberts and Barrett join the three liberals. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...
NIH grants have been under political scrutiny since early 2025. But what does the screening process actually look like? What is being flagged? I spent a month digging into leaked docs and emails. We've published the 235-word list that are being flagged by an internal AI tool. And so much more. 🧵
Inside the new political screening that’s stalling NIH grants
Mandatory reviews by top health officials and checks for 235 disfavoured terms have left hundreds of vetted grant applications in administrative limbo.

It's the end of the day here on the east coast and Russell Vought is still gunning for his personal take-over of all federal grant-making. The little dictator of the purse-strings is out-of-control. Write to you members of Congress and share, share, share. actionnetwork.org/letters/oppo...

The monitoring and regulation of college professors’ and students’ political speech is un-American and wrong. And in the case of public universities, I would think it is unconstitutional.
Breaking news: Indiana University plant microbiologist Roger Innes has been locked out of his laboratory by the school in response to a request by one of his federal funders. The move comes after Innes complained about the government’s prosecution of Chinese postdocs. https://scim.ag/4tsDqRr

Admininstration Redefines “Professional,” Limiting Loans For RNs, PT, MPH And More
The administration redefined "professional" degrees to limit loans to RNs, PT/OT, CRNAs and more, sparking fears about the worsening healthcare worker shortage.

The number of NIH competitive awards is down 50% from 2025, and down ~70% from prior years. Even if they catch up by the end of the year, only wealthy institutions can bridge these huge funding gaps. They're killing science-and violating the constitution-by weaponizing the bureaucracy
Through March 31, the number of grants awarded by the National Institutes of Health is down by more than half compared with the same period last year, a Post analysis found. There are also fewer grants focused on women’s health, cancer and mental health, the analysis found. https://wapo.st/48dWJWX
From new Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar's acceptance speech tonight. This is the absolute BARE MINIMUM platform for any Democrat running for President in 2028.
Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that. Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best. Welcome home, Integrity crew!
So if we can automatically register people for selective service with no ID issues, why can't we do the same with voting?

Constitutional lawyer here. I don't think it would violate the Constitution for the VP/Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, but the intended constitutional remedy for this behavior is impeachment & removal. The fact that that remedy is politically impossible is a scandal and a crisis.
If I were in Trump's Cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment. This is completely, utterly unhinged. He's already killed thousands. He's going to kill thousands more.
It’s pretty interesting to compare Easter messages from political leaders and then consider which ones the media treats as being out of the mainstream or dangerous

Again, we lost our collective stuff, in the National Conversation™️, over $188 billion in student loan debt relief, when the Old Democrat was president. Debt, deficits, moral hazard, unfairness, etc. etc. And yet, you will still hear about GOP "deficit hawks" going forward.

Local zoning is the way! A lot of these are being stopped or stalled by neighborhood organizing. These warehouses often need to be purchased, permitted, approved for occupancy and specs. Each one of those steps can be interrupted. Ppl are pressuring corps not to sell, counties to deny permits, etc
I'm not claiming the first Trump administration was a model of ethical behavior, but there is just a deep sense in the second term that the guardrails are gone, the boss doesn't care, and its grab-whatever-you-can time donmoynihan.substack.com/p/how-the-fb...
I am not going to repost the vile and racist image that Trump posted last night of President & First Lady Obama because it is beyond disgusting. Trump is a vile racist as is every Republican that continues to support him. I don’t want to hear mumbling from Mike Johnson or stoic silence from Thune.
The Trump Administration wants us to think of Trump's racism as a character flaw grandpa sometimes sadly lets express itself too aggressively, when the reality is that the white nationalism is the governing, organizing logic of his administration that all Republicans are complicit with.
