Death mask of Sir Isaac Newton in the Crawford Library, The Royal Observatory, Edinburgh. Although probably a Victorian copy of the original made at the death of Newton in 1727 I was absolutely blown away by it. I’ve lost my photo of it, so I’ve had to “borrow” this one from RoE.

We had volunteers out litter picking the in Leith today, & in the boat pulling rubbish out of the water. We counted a new record of 312 cans collected! We also gave some attention to maintaining paths & removing graffiti, while the survey team surveyed our 4 managed meadows🤘😎

My wifes mum lived in the Dumbiedykes tenements in the 1930s and 40s. No bathrooms, they visited the bath house. The lady would fill the bath for you. Some amazing stories of growing up there. Incredible and sad stories with broken people from the two wars.

I remember using the wash house in Causwayside when I was a student in the 80s. It was great, huge machines and tumble dryers, and amazing roller irons for ironing sheets. Friendly too.
