In this lacuna between fanfics I am thinking again about my Original Novel project, and I think I have learned some new things that might make it possible to move forward on it. Like, I think I was not open to making the central ship as toxic as it needs to be? So, thank you Danmei, for the lesson.

Just learned that John Crowley has passed away. Amazing writer. I will never forget reading Aegypt in dribs and drabs on my commute and feeling intensely that each day's installment was divinatory, like I'd drawn an incredibly apt Tarot card for the day's events.

Basements are such a weird concept. Like hey we decided to just leave this room here that mostly can't be used as a room. Yeah it's a bit crap for nearly all purposes, but you can say one thing for it, which is that it's under your house. You have to wash your clothes there for some reason.

When I say that you have to be leery of who critiques your art, your life will depend on it. The wrong person giving you critique will have you fighting with your own creativity, leaving you mentally unwell. Especially if you don't have enough people around you encouraging your art
