URGENT PLEA FOR HELP
Today the Humane Society of Cambria County responded to an overwhelming situation involving a home with 120 cats.

We have agreed to take 20 of these cats and provide safety and care they desperately need.

By taking these cats, our shelter is now 36 cats over our normal capacity.

Every one of these new arrivals needs to be properly vetted, and spayed or neutered, We are committed to giving them the care they deserve-but we TRULY CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT THE HELP OF OUR COMMUNITY.

WE desperately need:

Monetary donations to help cover veterinary expenses

Cat food

Cat litter- This is an especially urgent need.

Supplies to help us care for the cats now in our shelter

My hot tip for leaving comments on anything (art, prose, whatever): even if you write a single sentence, make it clear you actually looked at/read the piece.

"This is so pretty!" / "Good chapter." <- could be about anything. You could have copied and pasted this comment onto the last 30 things you saw/read.

"I love the rough brush strokes in her hair." / "[Character] crying in this chapter really crushed my heart!" <- is clearly about a specific piece!

I'm not saying you can't comment that first way, of course. You can leave emojis or a single word or whatever else! But if you'd like to up your comments a little and show creators you really see their work, making piece-specific remarks goes a long way, even in just one sentence.

ASTRA INCLINANT

Apostles, clones of the Divine, exist for one reason: to die and be subsumed so their Saints can live a facade of immortality. Apostle Solis has already accepted the nature of his transient existence, a glorified one-time revival for his Saint of the same name, but until then, he is a teacher and he means to do the best he can for as long as possible. After all, his situation is what it is.

River Zhang has thrown his lot in with the questionable motives of the space-dwelling Church of Night Divine, hoping to focus on finding some kind of happiness for himself away from the ordinary struggles of society. He does not expect to become utterly smitten with Apostle Solis, whose good nature and whimsy belie the deep belief that his terrible existence is worth neither loving nor lamenting.

But Solis has work to do, and he's not about to let himself be tangled up in the nuance of deciding whether or not he matters for anything else. And if he happens to form attachments that cause problems for him down the line... well, he can always lie to himself about that, too.
