Having completed this gomboc piece I now have some idea of what I could do for subscriber badges on the channel. I'll photograph shapes from my collection, transform them as I did with the gomboc photo, and use the transformed and shrunken versions as the subscriber badges. Could be good!

On the left is a gomboc sat upon a white surface with a black background. There is an implied light source but it's a bit inconsistent in this scene. On the right is the same gomboc but now it is situated inside of a sort of dark purple/orange-yellow dither gradient that matches the subtle lighting color hints of the far edge of the gomboc. I have also cleaned up the engraved lettering, painting over the stray, off-color pixels that accumulated due to the stacks and stacks of weird image processing algorithms that I slapped together to make this little abomination of an image.
