Welp, next week I have a consultation to see about getting my other Achilles tendon lengthened to match the right foot. Hope to Hell I can get that done.Would be a tremendous relief in the long term because the problem has proven completely impossible to correct by any other means.

I'm dead inside but my body keeps moving. Critical of the State of Alabama; it's awful. Videographer, artist, and programmer. Unemployable cripple and monster.
Finally came upon the first particularly difficult puzzle in The Big Walk. It's probably simpler than it seems but it doesn't seem very simple. Forgot to get a screenshot of what I believe to be the method of communication though, which is a grid of panels one can set and then elevate.
🪙💧 A coin slot for water. Why didn't I think of that? #pixelart #aseprite #ドット絵 #indierpg #indiegames
Snapped up a copy of The Big Walk. Played a little bit of it but I also haven't slept much due to the doctor's appointment I had to wake up for and I've got a headache, so I have yet to spend a great deal of time with the game. But I think it has the juice. The audio in the game is excellent!
I've mentioned it more than a few times already, but if you like point and click adventures AT ALL, then you really shouldn't sleep on Endacopia. Genuinely one of the best in years. Old-school (both in style and engine) but new spirit as it was made by by someone who wasn't even alive in the '90s.

Endacopia is a Point-and-Click Puzzle Adventure that is visually reminiscent of early computer edutainment games... with underlying horrors.

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)
Okay, I figured it out: this was a GIMP bug. Near as I can tell it just sort of lost some buffer it was using for the image-global alpha channel, rendering all black instead. But the Navigation pane showed I was looking at transparency. Closed the file, reloaded, and everything was fixed. ?>:|
Was working on a picture of a Eurasian coot (a particularly interesting fowl, that one) and had what I thought was shaping up to be a pretty good if maybe a bit heavy-handed picture going. Unfortunately, I seem to have have committed several errors I am presently unable to fix as I cannot find them.

I was up at the buttcrack of dawn this morning when it was still dark out. It had been pouring all night. Took this picture with my phone. It isn’t even a shot of something. It just captured… I don’t know… the vibe? Regardless, I like it.
If you're thinking that the logo for this game looks familiar and perhaps evokes a sense of dread there's a good reason for that: Kitfox Games have made deep sims before. They made the merciless post-apocalyptic sim NEO Scavenger (2014) (PC). Near as I can tell, Ostranauts is far more than that.

Oh, that's nice. The original Doom-engine version of Total Chaos is up on GOG, updated to UZDoom. It requires you own Doom 2, which is a bit silly. The engine is fully open-source and I don't think the game contains any Doom assets.

Tried this briefly and it seems to work. It has mod support, and there's a mod to increase the size of the doc viewer so reading documents isn't physically painful now.
Nice, a Realms of the Haunting reverse engineering project with mod support. Not sure if it's in a playable state yet github.com/slidick/ROTH.C

Switched my GIMP back to the Legacy icon pack because the default one has some notable faults with it. In particular, I color-code my layers but several of the pastel colors available for such categorization make it nearly impossible to see the eye icon overlaid as the foreground over light pastels.
Having completed this gomboc piece I now have some idea of what I could do for subscriber badges on the channel. I'll photograph shapes from my collection, transform them as I did with the gomboc photo, and use the transformed and shrunken versions as the subscriber badges. Could be good!
I like to believe that even though I haven't been able to pick up a pen and draw in a sketchbook for years (I have a strange mental block; even thinking about sketching makes me feel physically ill) I like to believe that refining these works is giving me some sort of applicable art practice.
For want of anything actively useful to do I am over here once again trying to draft up emote ideas to fill up the bit/tips emote slots and maybe come up with two more animated emotes of some sort while I'm at it. Thus far I've milled out a weird emote of a Gömböc.
I went in and searched carefully to find this post bc I knew it would be there. I remember these chips. They were mighty tasty. A real treat to scoop up a bag of these when I was on road trips with my folks as a young child. Wonder if Keebler still has the recipe for these things.
Pizzarias (1991-circa 1998): Pizza-flavored snack chips, legitimately made with fresh pizza dough. Came in three flavors: Cheese, Supreme, and Zesty Pepperoni.
Everything that I've seen of Endacopia (2026) (PC) has been quite brilliant. Its aesthetic compels me. Its mixed media motif speaks to a great yearning within my soul. I suppose part of me feels I should be doing some sort of superficially similar mixed media game dev. Needed motivator, mayhaps(?).
