While it certainly wasn't the only factor, collective covid measures followed by a summer of major uprisings are a reminder of how terrified the gentry are of people realizing they can act and work together. They're pushing hard to erase the memory of that entire time period for a reason.
Dave Andress@davidandress.bsky.social · 4d agoCovid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.
Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.

ed has tracked down izzy after years only to find he settled down and got married to stede and actually seems happy so in an attempt to avoid putting strain on the stizzy marriage he is seducing them both at the same time

The TOS being so strict that they control you offsite is the problem; sites like Patreon and Kofi have offsite clauses too. The social criminalization of the suggestion that somewhere you might be doing nsfw is a problem. It's branding a person as obscene and we need consumers to stand up for us
