Basically, you can measure how statutory text spread from state to state over time and how the language evolved. This kind of work used to take years with a team of RAs. It can now be done in an afternoon.

For many, today is the last weekend before school restarts. Sorting uniform, finding books, preparing to be reunited with friends. For my kid, who won't be returning to school, it is a time of huge uncertainty. We don't yet have a clear path forward. English schools are no longer a viable option.

Being a trans person in the UK is to be held by the throat on national TV as the government punches you in the face while they deliver a speech to camera about how nobody should be punched.
Did they shut down the neonatal unit and conduct an “independent review” without a timeframe or a roadmap when Lucy Letby was killing babies? If not, what warranted the drastic measure suspending Wales's gender-affirming surgery referral service?
This charlatan routinely breaks journalistic ethics. Never references their sources, or offers a right of reply. They are an embarrassment to ethical jornalism. People's lives turned upside down as a result of their slop.
Addendum: when complaining or protesting stuff like this, it's helpful to consider who is *directly* responsible for the harmful decision. In this case it's not the Welsh Gender Service - it's various individuals and bodies within NHS Wales, as noted below.

Wales has stopped ALL gender affirming surgeries! Schools have just declared an end to social transition and inclusion for trans kids. I do not think enough people are paying attention to how utterly and quickly trans rights have been stripped away in the uk!

Best I can do "all trans people did not kill themselves just yet" as justification. So far good enough 🤷♀️
It is outrageous that service restoration should hang in the balance. Certainty regarding continuity of service is non-negotiable. You cannot just turn services off without a roadmap and a timetable. Suggesting this as a viable step is misconduct, and the failure to push back is incompetence.
The launching of an “independent review” cannot support the suspension of services. The minimum requirements for any suspension to occur are, firstly, a clear justification (a necessity test), and secondly, a time-bound preliminary review (for example, a working group reporting back within 14 days).
We need to end the culture of the NHS can harm trans people with impunity. The idea that we cannot demand real accountability is wrong. An institutional problem is a people problem.
Yes, it's the better strategy and correct to make it an issue of misconduct and failure of standards etc etc rather than a "culture war" or trans panic". Both of these are a *marketing exercise* and manipulate *perceptions* away from *standards* and accountability etc.
I have been following the promotion of Nick Wallis in the media for a couple of years. He first pops up writing the transcripts of GC court cases and then starts appearing in the Academy Of Ideas thinktank site (battle of ideas). The is an exploitation of his minor role in the PO scandal.
