Something I'd like to do is learn the basics of a bunch of languages, not with the intention really of speaking them or being fluent, at least not in all, but to just learn how they work. Realistically I don't think I have the dedication to ever be a polyglot, but linguistics fascinates me

It always slightly irritates me when people say Jubilee "was adapted into a TV episode" or words to that effect. In my mind, apart from the obvious superficial parallel, Jubilee and Dalek are two completely different stories doing VERY different things #DoctorWho

Today London Trans Pride was full of celebration, defiance, joy, tears, pride and protest. 150K trans+ people, allies, parents, partners, & children saying “ENOUGH” at the cruelty & blatant discrimination being targeted at trans+ people in the UK - much of it from our current government!

M-O is my favourite character in WALL-E. The film is basically all about what it means to be human and be alive, and how capitalism and consumerism is antithetical to that. But M-O makes the point that dedication to your profession within that capitalist system can in itself be a very human thing

I think dismissing recent RTD finales as just typical RTD finales dismisses how much work he used to put in. I could do similar breakdowns of how he sets up the Army of Ghosts cliffhanger or the buildup to Dalton in End of Time. He used to be the master (pun intended) of these big moments.

Perhaps that's true, but a long period off the air would do no harm creatively speaking, as it's felt for a while like Doctor Who is carrying on out of obligation, because people feel they need to keep it alive, rather than because anyone has a genuine artistic vision for what to do with it

it really is so funny watching "how to fix doctor who" videos and they only talk about things that mega fans think about and not average viewers it's a good thing they won't put youtubers in charge of the show because you're more in the weeds than rtd was even though you complain about that too

An exercise I always do in these scenarios is replace trans rights with any other context and see how it reads. For instance: "Private centre that does not hire or provide services to black women defamed as anti rights." Would describing such a group as "anti rights" or "racist" be reasonable?
