I’m not really a sheep. I don’t follow the crowd Green, allotmenteer, sweary, lover of cake and chocolate, Renaissance and Pre-Raphaelite art Can be found in South Derbyshire

A whole £21 per year! That’s really going to help isn’t it? What with council tax up, petrol and diesel up, and then you have gas and electricity shooting up in the New Year. I’m sure this Government like past ones are living in fairy land

Chancellor to cut tariffs on some food and freeze fuel duty to give families 'breathing space'

A series of small announcements are part of John Healey's pledge to give households help with the cost of living.

"By rejecting Rosebank, saying no to a third runway at Heathrow, and putting a pause on energy-hungry data centres until they align with climate goals, the government can show it’s on the side of communities and is serious about securing a stable climate." - Imogen Dow, FoE. shorturl.at/IELa0

Letter to PM argues series of wrong choices on North Sea oil, Heathrow, EVs and heat pumps will scupper net zero plans

The Green Team was out in Harehills today when we came across a fallen tree blocking Lascelles Road, right across the middle of the road blocking access for residents. I tried getting the council parks team out but no luck. So the Green Team set to work! In a few hours we had the tree cleared.

The Govt claiming we must drill more fossil fuels so we can use the tax revenues to fund the green transition is about as logical as a doctor telling you to smoke 2 packs a day to raise the money for your lung transplant You don’t put out a fire by pouring on more fuel 🔥#Jackdaw

Today's decision by Labour to approve new drilling in the North Sea is climate vandalism. It's a betrayal of all of our futures, and Labour has abandoned all credibility in the fight against climate change. This is a victory for Shell over the people. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cw...

UK government approves Jackdaw gas field, and says production will start this month - follow live

Activists say approving the gas field will raise carbon emissions - while the developers argue it is important for the UK’s energy security.

Jackdaw will not bring down bills or protect jobs. This is an irresponsible decision from a government that seems to care more about the profits of fossil fuel companies than the money in your pocket or the safety of our planet.

The image is a graphic of Carla Denyer with a speech bubble that reads:

“Jackdaw will not bring down bills or protect jobs. This is an irresponsible decision from a government that seems to care more about the profits of fossil fuel companies than the money in your pocket or the safety of our planet.

There is no future in fossil fuels. Pretending otherwise fails workers, billpayers, and the next generation who deserve to inherit a planet safe from climate catastrophe.”

The toxic truth about your period products. How do you know if your sanitary products are safe? Sadly, in the UK you don't. There are more regulations about candles than tampons, pads or reusable products. 🧵1/3

The Green Party has written to the Telegraph demanding an apology and retraction for publishing these two cartoons, which they say use "well known racist and antisemitic tropes in depicting Mothin Ali and Zack Polanski"

This man has achieved more in a year outside of parliament than a lot of politicians do in a lifetime. He's rightly taking this moment to thank everyone that tirelessly supported the campaign, but let's put some respect on his name too: big up, Zacky P! We're proud of you x

A heartbreaking result but a huge swing towards the Greens we can be proud of. Well done to everyone who worked so hard and huge thank you to Zack. We took a huge chunk out of Labour's vote, in their heartland, during the "Burnham bounce". This is just the beginning.
