Per @popville.bsky.social this happened last year and had to do more with the health of the trees than anything. Easy to be furious about everything around what Trump’s done with the Kennedy Center but this doesn’t appear to be one of them. Note how young the trees were too (skinny trunks).

Khalil was deported by the U.S. on Friday to a conflict zone.
