The cool thing about physical media? You can include that media in the inside hardcover of a video game history book. Like when this publisher in Japan put a Sega Dreamcast compilation of Yu Suzuki's arcade games in Game Works Vol. 1 back in 2002.

The site of Nintendo’s former Kanda Sudachō building has finally been cleared over a year since the demolition notice was posted. It was the home of HAL Laboratory amongst other Tokyo business operations before they moved to Kanda Square. Images: @takeMJtoyo @takashikiso @GameLabo_sansai

I’ve decided to stay somewhere between the 80’s and 90’s. Gaming was something fun and exciting! Super Mario Bros came out. You had Nintendo and Sega, going at each other. You had the GameBoy and Pokemon taking over the world. Renting games was the best thing ever. Good times.

GEORGE: See, I'm telling you. When have you ever witnessed a "Rondo", let alone used the word? JERRY: ...of Blood? GEORGE: OTHER than of Blood! Look, here comes Kramer. Hey Kramer, have you ever heard of a "Rondo"? KRAMER: Plenty of times. GEORGE: When? KRAMER: Of Blood. Jerry: OF BLOOD!

Looking For Fael on Steam

Hello, this is Fael... Listen, this is going to sound strange, but... I think I'm lost in the apartment. Right now... I... I don't know where I am. Can you come and help me?

Today we have something special: a newly translated interview from July 1996 between Shigeru Miyamoto and Kenji Eno! Conducted just weeks after the launch of Mario 64, Eno takes Miyamoto to task (in a friendly way) with several fascinating critiques of its design. shmuplations.com/miyamotoxeno/

Interesting to see that games cartridge size held meaning back in the days in Japanese magazines. The bigger the cart, the higher quality and content one could expect: more beautiful the sprites, more animations, levels, music tracks and so on.
