On this day in 2013, 13 years ago, Pokémon X & Y were first released. These games were the first 3D main series titles and had you travel through the Kalos region. and try to stop Team Flare's plans while introducing new Pokémon & Mega Evolution www.serebii.net/xy/
ADDITIONALLY PURSUANT TO THIS, "If you don't like Digger, you must only like superhero movies" is the weirdest strawman! Superhero films are no longer surefire successes! s2g, I'm going to get reverse polarized into hating this movie (This will not happen. I like being contrarian too much.)
As someone who is mostly pro-Digger, the idea that people who don't like it are film illiterates or something is very strange to me. That movie makes many deliberate choices you will either find intriguing or excruciating, and the second you tip over into "excruciating," it's not getting you back.
bigotry aside: imagine having to design an enforcement policy for this. what are we doing y'all?

I would love to see the revival of Laika as a studio, especially in today's largely unimpressive animated film landscape
LAIKA's ‘WILDWOOD’ has debuted with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Highest rated animated film of the decade. Read our review: bit.ly/WildwoodDF
COULD IT BE THE UNMITIGATED HOMOPHOBIA AND GENDERED VIOLENCE UNDER A FASCIST REGIME?
Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than a few years ago, according to a new analysis. “It really does look like a free fall,” Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology, said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”
I reviewed WILDWOOD, a stunning feat of animation and one of the most breathtaking things I’ve seen this year www.inverse.com/entertainmen...
'Wildwood' Is A Soaring Achievement Of Animation
'Wildwood,' Travis Knight’s new stop-motion animated film for LAIKA, is a new pinnacle for the medium.

Has anyone called the Cybertruck a rolling dunce cap. I think that's what it is
This is what competitive authoritarianism looks like - we still have elections, but under conditions that are not equal and not fair.
ABC News' lawyer told a judge the network is tempering its election coverage because of government threats. The Trump Censorship Industrial Complex is real...and expanding.

this year's attempt to make my very horror-averse family watch a "tame" spooky season film: The Thing From Another Planet (1951)
Fantastic show. Revelatory performance by Lili Reinhart.
One of 2025’s very best TV shows — Hal & Harper, formerly a Mubi exclusive — is now streaming on Tubi.
All of my books are in a shared universe, and though they are all realistic fiction, I declare by authorial fiat that the following are true: --Ghosts are real --But only on shipwrecks --They're all at the bottom of the ocean --Don't go in the Titanic --There is one really big bird who grants wishes
god bless TCM for airing Boorman and the Devil. just a lovely documentary about the challenges of filmmaking and the bravery of taking big artistic swings.
I think it's funny that people are getting mad that the guy who famously reimagines classic horror stories did a reimagining of Carrie. like yeah, that's his whole thing. why would he remake a version that already exists?
some people shouldn’t have access to movies. stick to a paddle and ball
We talk a lot about how this film made Godzilla a hero for the first time, but it's also worthwhile to note what it does for Mothra, who will forever flip flop between being a protector of nature and a big monster referee.
Godzilla does a face turn AND meets his most famous enemy in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. The alien-infused plot is all over the place, but the kaiju brawls make up for it. Ghidorah, brought to life through a man-in-suit, careful wire puppeteering, and model work is a tokusatsu masterpiece.
