I find this an increasing issue in YA as well. A lot of authors are trying to hold the hands of their teen audiences (or of the adults who are reading it). Everything is over explained and wrapped up in a tidy bow. Teens complain to me about it frequently.

It’s about time we had a reckoning with the need so many writers feel to over-explain everything aspect of their stories, even in non Weird genres. Readers don’t need to be babied. Let us figure things out. Leave room for interpretation. Over-explanation makes writing worse.

As the academic year kicks off, I want to highlight an important issue that many folks, including some of my colleagues, are not aware of: the new earnings test imposed by the U.S. Department of Education as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

My personal brand statement is the opposite of whatever asking AI for a personal brand statement is.

"Everything will be made by AI in a few years so you should accept it now" is a very odd argument. If we knew all food was going to be lab-grown in a few years, the rational response would be to a) eat tons of real food while it's still available and b) lobby extremely hard to make that not happen.

If you're not using asbestos yet, you are being left behind. Everyone is using asbestos, there's no point in trying to fight it. Asbestos is the future.
