If you want to know what I've been doing during my mental health hiatus—aside from sobbing b/c Humana decided Welbutrin & Concerta are optional—it is a lot of fine tuning the timeline of all 400 scenes across the four books of Shackles and Shards so... It's like multiple note book pages like this

A note book open to a page showing a grid with scene number on the left, scene name in the middle, and scene date on the right. It shows roughly 31 scenes with lots of correction tape, Crossed out info, and some scenes notated in different color ink. A note book page showing more scenes and their corresponding dates but at the bottom also notates which scenes are major plot points, pinch points, and inciting incidents and at which point (percentage wise) they occur in the book.

This is a fundamentally dishonest survey constructed to push the lie that authors are embracing A.I. in great numbers. There are no "None" options because they don't want a "None" option because that would undermine their purpose. Take it, select "Other", and fill in "None" wherever possible.

Breaking my mental health hiatus to let yall know that an AI slop farm wants to know authors' opinions on AI. Do with this what you will. I will see you all next month. 💜 docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

My plot bunnies folder is hilarious to look at. Right now: - lesbian ancient magus bride but REALLY leaning into the d/s (actually in progress but I'm doing it under a pen name) - lesbian sw prequel but actually good and with nightsisters / dathomir not being shafted - lesbian FE:Fates Azura MC

I *hate* tilted surveys like this with a passion, I *hate* that there's a concerted effort to silence the voices of those of us who refuse to use the plagiarism machine, and I'm reminded [again] why I wasn't interested in joining ALLi in the first place. [read this thread]

Alli's new author survey on AI use dropped today, and their email said they wanted to see how people are using it, from those who do, to those who avoid it entirely. Funny then how the only option in the survey for those who don't use it is labeled "AI Minimal".

A screenshot of a survey question.

2. Which of the best describes your current approach to AI in your writing and publishing?
1) AI-Minimal -- I only use physical processes and human assistance, or I shun generative AI and use only basic tools e.g. spellcheckers
2)AI-Assisted (publishing only_ -- I use AI assistance for select publishing tasks e.g. market research, design, database management
3) AI-Assisted (publishing and writing)--I also use AI assistance for select writing tasks e.g. ideation, editing, research
4)AI-Integrated--I use AI across all my writing and publishing processes
5)I don't know/am still figuring it out

Something I found that really helps writers especially is to tell them you read their work. There is a friend of mine who thought their work went completely unread for ages, they had no idea, I would read every update of theirs no matter how small. I told them their work was important to me.

It's *veterinarian day* for the fur children. Pray for my neighbors and everyone on the beltway today, for Stormy screams the scream of a thousand cats. His protestations start the second I leave the apartment and do not cease til we have returned.
