Empty out the locker room, let me find my space location: more like GREATEST Boston "delightfully Bostonian", I'm told. • Blog: https://smadin.net/ • Fediverse: https://better.boston/@smadin

Fair enough, but the non-partisan polls of the races also did very poorly: - Emerson: El-Sayed +16 - Tavern: AES +10 - Glengariff: Stevens +7 - Mitchell: AES +14 Looks less like partisan pollsters rigging their data and more like a combination of late movement and biased samples across the board

Whoever ends up winning the Democratic nomination for Senate in Michigan, I hope with little expectation that those who took seriously polls showing a rout for El-Sayed will think twice about relying on questionable and/or partisan polls.

It’s the 50th anniversary of the time Eric Clapton went onstage and told everyone who wasn’t British to leave the room and the country, and was the impetus for Rock Against Racism

It gets an actual chuckle out of me seeing people on here say "now the TRUE test is whether the shitlibs can live up to their own words and line up behind El-Sayed!" only for Stevens, Whitmer, every prominent Michigan Dem, the DSCC, etc. to have endorsed El-Sayed before they can finish the sentence.

I have no desire to hold public office & am entirely unelectable besides. my recreational habits in 1986 alone disqualify me. but I'm running for president anyway & my entire platform is "when you need your health care provider, you get a live operator every time." I will win in a landslide

in 2016 Elon Musk said he would build a fully automated factory in Fremont, California for the upcoming Model 3 and he then spent on the order of $2 billion on production lines that didn't work, forcing Tesla to assemble cars by hand in a tent but sure, now he's gonna do it on the moon

Miller is a piece of shit. But be cautious about calling family photos of nude toddlers "CSAM." I've written about lives ruined over allegations that turned out to be harmless photos of kids taking a bath or running naked through the house. Moreno is already calling for prosecutions, here.

Max Miller’s lawyer admits to accidentally releasing ‘private images’ of daughter

Lawyers for ex-wife Emily Moreno said possible “Child Sexual Abuse Material” was included in a trove of documents the Ohio lawmaker publicly posted.

Something I think those of us who grew up in 90s or earlier are going to have to internalize — and will always struggle to remember — is that US voters no longer accept the fiction that politics is a contest between liberal and conservative ideas, rather than faction-based culture war by other means

Young people don't think politics is about proper tax rates or balancing efficiency and justice. Young people — and in this sense they're just seeing the world more clearly — understand politics now is about status. Who deserves to have it stuck to them? Who should do the sticking? These are our Qs

The decisive failure of GOP referenda in Kansas Amendment 1 and Missouri Amendment 4 yesterday is yet another reminder of something I've been saying for a while: Voters, even Republican voters, now regularly despise and repudiate GOP attempts to use them to destroy democracy.

@josie.zone hey I remember you talking about The Believer (2001) — do you by any chance know the movie podcast Pleasers & Punishers? because I'm listening to their summer bloopers ep and co-host Amanda Jane Stern just said her mother was the casting director.
