Happy new year🎉🎆! 2026 will be a year of big change for me. This month, I will move to Delft @tudelfttnw.bsky.social to start my project as a VENI Fellow (shorturl.at/ush1i, funded by NWO). Many thanks to those who supported my application! I'm looking forward to this opportunity to

Attended the MASC conference in Milton Keynes. It was a great conference with a lot of interactions. Thanks a lot for the organizers and looking forward to the future MASC conferences! #MASC2025 @rsc-masc.bsky.social
Our new paper "A Versatile Strategy for Light-Driven Active Transport of Ions" is now online in @angewandtechemie.bsky.social! shorturl.at/jr1wY We used an azobenzene photoswitch to transport ions against their concentration gradients from one aqueous compartment to the other. This was achieved

A chemoenzymatic reaction-diffusion system with local inhibition and distal activation - Nature Communications
Achieving spatiotemporal gating of signals is desirable for mimicking of biological processes, but is challenging to achieve in synthetic systems. Here, the authors report a multicomponent chemoenzyma...

Online now: Light-intensity-dependent out-of-equilibrium processes toward dimensionally distinct nanopolymorphs
Light-intensity-dependent out-of-equilibrium processes toward dimensionally distinct nanopolymorphs
Precise control over out-of-equilibrium states is key to creating smart materials. Here, we report a synthetic supramolecular polymer system that forms distinct out-of-equilibrium structures of different dimensionalities depending on light intensity. Real-time high-speed AFM imaging revealed the underlying mechanisms, including light-driven facet-selective polymorphic transformation and Ostwald ripening. This study offers a general design principle for adaptive materials whose structures and functions are finely tuned by the amount of energy input.

I'm advertising a funded opportunity for a postdoc to join the Fielden Research Group for 24 months: www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DPC150/r... We're looking for a researcher with expertise in supramolecular and/or colloid chemistry to help kick start our ERC-funded project into dynamic emulsions. 😃
We're hiring! I need a mechanical/biomedical engineer to work on blood pumping for ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation): euraxess.ec.europa.eu/jobs/374571 It is using our 'magnetostaltic' pumps, first shown in our 2020 Nature paper: rdcu.be/b3ZuF (see Fig. 4). We have since scaled to 1 L/min.

Excited to share our latest work now out in Chem! A functionnalized CD that moves unidirectionally by actively opening the way in only one direction. Huge thanks to @enxuliu.bsky.social and the team! @ipcm-sorbonne.bsky.social @msollogoub.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Pumping molecules against a gradient without a pump? Back-to-back with @boekhovenlab.bsky.social, we describe minimal systems that use chemical energy to transport molecules against a concentration gradient. It started with a little shock!🧵 Us: shorturl.at/smQNF Job's team: shorturl.at/zftps
Participated in #ISMSC2025 in Kyoto. It was a great opportunity to meet old and new friends, particularly in Japan. Also, learned a lot about latest works of supramolecular & systems chemistry. Huge thanks to the organizers!
