all my interactions with ai are miserable and nonconsensual. it is the reason my programs are running slowly, why my weather report is inaccurate, why I always get connected to the wrong department of any automated call service. I would pay a lot of money to be rid of it.

Well, it appears that, sometime in the last 17 hours, Gwen Pepperoni was suspended for the crime of pointing out Ken Jennings' transphobia.
the SMT IVA localization team used cam clarke (liquid snake) to voice this line and I am 100% certain that was a deliberate choice on their part. it's shit like this that makes video games worth playing sometimes

The most telling thing ever is this arbitrary time period nonsense ends with "oh and nobody reads books so, they get almost two years, but NOT two full years because that would be ridiculous."
@masked-ermine.bsky.social · 2d agoSpoilers should be cognizant of spoiling around the immediate publication (stratified by media type), weeks for TV, months for movies, a year and a half for books...imo.
Honestly, I kind of disagree. Culturally we're shifting towards the TikTok attitude of "I am filming the movie's highlights and posting them on social media to get views" If anything we're entering an era where it's almost impossible to avoid spoilers as a result of that attitude specifically.
Dionysia@dionysi.bsky.social · 2d agoI would say it is an increase, in the sense that there is a noticeable shift, culturally, in what people consider a spoiler and how strongly people react when what they feel to be a spoiler is breached. They are individuals, but individuals are influenced by cultural expectations.
