We sure aren't in a (generally speaking) culture that makes this easy; we aren't in an economy that acknowledges it; we aren't in careers that reward it; but what we need is mind-expanding empathy across knowledge work that lets us care about intention enough to help people do their thing

None of us can know what we don't know. I have a lot of known unknowns wrt software: I know I'm not a web developer or database engineer, but I know I'm damn good at statistical thinking. The challenges of this age aren't about replacing expertise but learning to share it

Today has been the worst earache of my adult life. Sharing because its not something I hear a lot of adults talk about. I thought a few years ago I knew what that was but today is definitely worse.

The next week is going to be so much zucchini. 😅😅😅 just giving advanced notice as I grated 10 cups of zucchini and there are still 4 more zucchini to go. 😅😅😅

😭😭😭 I had to share because my heart .. but frankie saw the children's illustrated guide to kubernetes on my bookshelf and yall he asked if he could read it and he just asked me if he could keep it 💕💕

Join the dora.community today for a discussion with @wiredferret.bsky.social about progressive delivery. Heidi will give a brief overview and then we'll have a lean coffee-based discussion about the topic. Meeting starts at 12PM ET, details on the mailing list. #DORA #GBGB #Community

I don't know who needs to hear this, but cops are not allowed to shoot people just because you didn't do what they said. That is called murder when they do that. Some cops are working hard to convince people otherwise.

🙃🫠😭so first I learned the dangers of sugarfree cough drops on unsuspecting kids who monster their way through a pack. Now with sick kid who has learned the wrong thing from this adventure and refuses to take any cough meds 😭

Learning culture moderates how software organizations adopt tools and the implicit rules we're giving developers want what they can do, experiment with, push back on, and share. And software has spent years dismissing it in favor of sloppy ad hoc velocity benchmarks

Does anyone know the secret of why band-aids are so much more effective than generics at sticking appropriately? Also why aren't there giant hydrocolloid bandages? I can totally recommend the skin-flex motionmax band-aid for large knee abrasions 🙃bonus points for the adhesive not irritating me

Today i learned about dermoplast individually wrapped wound wipes and these are now going to be added to my always carry around. As a clumsy person prone to falling there isn't always a handy place to rinse out scrapes and they are pretty soothing.

My Lab at the University of Edinburgh🇬🇧 has funded PhD positions for this cycle! We study the computational principles of how people learn, reason, and communicate. It's a new lab, and you will be playing a big role in shaping its culture and foundations. Spread the words!
