Well, today was irksome. Except for all of the people who were kind about Long Covid or infuriated on behalf of its sufferers in my replies and in their replies to others. That was very heartening. I, and I’m sure many others, are grateful for the support. Very genuinely.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

As a teacher with an immunocompromised wife - fuck you! My partner wouldn't be here if it hadn't been for school closures. We were fortunate enough to continue teaching from home. The disrespect to colleagues we lost and the students who were never able to return bc of long Covid - sickening.

No need for anyone to agree with me - but some of the responses to this on here reminds me just how stifling and absolutist a period in our national discourse Covid was.
