this is like some old man posting but i’m feeling a little under the weather today and so my exercise this morning is just a long walk and you know what activity rocks? taking a walk.

and I hate to say it, but I feel like most of us on bluesky are the outliers with our aversion to it 🥴 at least from what I’ve seen on other apps (namely IG and Tiktok), wayyy more people have seemed to embrace it

I think the weirdest thing about AI usage has been seeing how quickly people are willing to surrender themselves to it like that desire to offload every mental challenge, any need for validation, every single curiosity is channeled through it

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

worth applying to politics as well. when you're criticizing an action people take "taking the better action next time" is only one of the alternatives people will consider, and worth remembering that "not bothering at all" is another.

It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.

No need for gloom and doom. There’s more of us (humans who aren’t monsters) than them (demons).

I really think people are underestimating the degree to which 21st century politics are going to be apocalyptically bad; we are collectively sliding towards mass ethnic cleansing being the norm in the Western World, out of no reason but pure fucking spite and empty nostalgia.
