One cool thing about the United States is that there are more people whose job is to deny healthcare coverage without having any medical background than there are people to provide healthcare coverage and they’ve somehow convinced people that the doctors are where the monetary waste is happening

If you want to understand why healthcare pricing is horrific, the first thing to know is that our system puts 100% of the credit risk for deductibles, copays and co-insurance on hospitals and doctors. That's insane. We have turned them into Sub Prime Lenders 🧵

There is a human tissue that builds itself up and breaks itself down every 28 days (on average) using non-scarring wound healing and instead of studying that and learning everything we can about it we think it's gross and look for other less relevant models to understand wound healing.
