"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve" Fighting for a liberal socialism that knows how to fight Queer as fuck. He/him/they

Like a decade ago, I thought that, despite being a liberal, I would be uniquely situated to interact with marxists, because I have read quite a lot of Marx and I'm quite sympathetic to much of it. Sadly, I didn't account for the complication that marxists don't actually read Marx

there is a strain of lefty discourse where you can’t come to any unflattering conclusions about the populace—those must be explained away by how they are being acted upon by capital—but I think you’ll understand things better if you understand capital can also exploit weaknesses it didn’t create

I swear to god "professes to be radical left, but spends most of their time complaining about the cost of cheeseburgers and that their household wares are too cheaply made" is an unholy political chimera forged in the consumerist heart of American society to torment me, specifically

Online shopping eliminated these gatekeepers and disintermediated the market, allowing consumers to express their desires more directly. And it turns out that what people really want is cheap disposable goods, not more expensive but higher quality stuff that lasts a long time.

I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.

You want to fight ICE? Don't strap up. Go talk to your neighbors, get into a Signal chat together, talk to immigrant communities about vulnerable spots, start making a list of known ICE cars. Start learning how to quickly identify a potential undercover car. They're easy to see once you know how.

Please take my word for this: absolutely nothing makes ICE angrier than being legally, lawfully monitored by concerned citizens. It makes it much harder for them to use their lazy snatch-and-grab tactics, and they cannot do much about it. It turns their own violent methods against them.

Guys, the best weapons to protect your neighbors from ICE are NOT GUNS They are CAMERAS, WHISTLES, and a well-organized RAPID RESPONSE AND NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH SYSTEM. ICE is better-armed than you'll ever be. But they like to rely on secrecy, and you can make it much harder for them to be secret.

"with some troubled moments" Begging media people like Nate to stop downplaying the actions Puka, AN ADULT MAN, willingly took! He assaulted a woman and made multiple antisemitic comments. Calling them "troubled moments" is like calling a pile of dog shit an "interesting artistic expression"

the Carpetbagger of the Mag Mile (carpetmagger?) going full Protocols was certainly very offensive, but the armies of people on this website who are presumably literate in English pretending that they suddenly don't understand what it means for an election to be "bought" might be even more so

This is sore loser shit. AIPAC didn't like Biss, either, they just liked you even less. And they aren't powerful enough to buy an election anywhere. Keep this up and you're gonna go into full triple parenthesis conspiracy territory.

AIPAC may have bought our election in Illinois, but we're not going to let that happen in Michigan. 5 days left to make them panic. Vote for Abdul on or before August 4th.

Im always reluctant to lock in any predictions given how insane our current moment is, but right now "the cyclosporiasis outbreak is eclipsed by the amount of pantshitting observed in GOP strategists October-November 2026" definitely feels *on the table*
