They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

RFK Jr is a dose if he thinks ICUs weren't filled to the brink during Covid, where I took a call from a nurse friend in tears because her coworker died, they had to triage ventilators and the first of the fridge trucks showed up.

Died (alas!) on this day in 1693, in Amsterdam, Willem Kalf. Extraordinary still life painter. Here from 1653, drinking horn & lobster. A+ diagonals there! Strangely energetic for painting of dead things.
