Wikipedia remains one of the most useful things online. No subscription fees, no ads, no stupid pursuit of AI, all curated by relentless nerds. Maybe remember to throw them a few bucks every now and again.

As soon as I feel anything nice I instantly cry so this is a fun time to be alive.
Gooooooood morning and happy hump day everyone. Let's try and find our inner badasses and go and do some good things today, shall we? Can't hurt to give it a try, right? ☺️

If someone used AI = no writing stories. Because they were using prompts. They didn't wrestle with these characters or this idea. And that is pretty obvious in conversation. They won't know the answers to why they made a story choice because it was all random. Anyway, fuck AI & white supremacy.
Here's a new fun tip from a recent after the fact revelation about my now late parents' financial situation: If you are the person who pays bills and sends in forms, you ***must*** make sure that it can continue without you doing it in whatever way you choose to ensure that happens...
I just can't stress enough that this isn't a real thing. What it actually means is *the absence* of some mechanism that artificially normalizes right-wing thought to give it *the appearance* of being on an even footing with what actual normal people think and talk about.
"Liberal bubble" has only ever meant anywhere where right wing perspectives aren't artificially elevated and forced into everyone's feeds.
Me making my husband pause the movie he’s watching so I can capture the quilt
“Participation decline” and “no longer receiving “ is the passive language of sycophants & this is why I stopped donating & listening in 2016 after a literal lifetime of loyalty & support. Pathetic & shameful cowardice & complicity.
SNAP, also known as food stamps, has seen a rapid and consistent participation decline since last July. The drop comes as the program faces historic cuts and changes. n.pr/4w5XSc9

I'm not sure why I have to keep telling people this but if you see a mug shot of an attractive woman and some bizarre story attached to it, it's AI generated and a fake story from a Facebook content mill. Stop sharing it!
why are you showing me this now after I have been married for almost a decade
I guess I should share more of the poems mom (92) remembers, here’s one she quoted the other day allpoetry.com/poem/1358748...

Someone I know saw me today for the first time in a long time & said “Oh I love your hair, it looks so much better than whatever it was you were doing before“ & I feel like I’ve been gifted absolution for every accidentally idiotic thing I’ve ever said to anyone in my entire life 😇
Is it time to post this picture again? It sure does feel like it’s been a long trip since then.
The poem mom’s remembering this morning, she only had snippets so we looked it up: www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44644/...

Did not expect to go viral talking about poetry, caregiving, 20th c. literacy, but here we are & it’s heartening ❤️🩹
Maybe on World Ranger Day, all of you could stop following ALT NPS as they are not made up of former or current Ranger staff. We are a small group of people when it comes down to it and no one I know knows anyone associated with that account.
Mom, 92, wasn’t feeling well, she skipped dinner, so I went to check on her & she said she was thinking of poems. Then she recited two Robert Frost classics from memory. #caregiving I love that I grew up with art, poetry, classical music, literature, languages. It was a great 20th century life.
there is no good faith anti-trans sports lobby and never has been it’s been a cynical wedge issue from day one for a group of people looking to replace gay marriage as a cultural weapon none of them have ever cared about women, women’s sports, or even sports
enough of this shit
I spent a long time looking for a job, now I've found one! I just need help with one more month's expenses before I can pay bills on my own. If you could help, I'd really appreciate it!
Couldn’t get a shot of it, but spied a New Hampshire license plate that read KIKROK5 yesterday & it made me laugh in Masshole #kickrocks
Here's my interview with CNBC on how Zuckerberg's vacuous talking points about AGI and open source exist to distract from how Meta burned $180bn in capex (and more off-balance-sheet) to make also-ran LLMs that don't deliver an iota of the promise of "personal superintelligence."
I filled an online shopping cart with spring bulbs for planting in the fall, should I complete the purchase?? I have a small, mostly shady patch of moss/grass I envision filling with snowdrops, Chionodoxa, squill, grape hyacinth, crocus, tulips, but not sure the yard critters would even allow it 🌱
