As someone who drives in SE PDX more than I bike, my goals are, in-order: 1. Don't murder anyone 2. Get where I'm going Making streets safer for cyclists helps me (and other drivers) do (1) without impeding (2). Bring back the planters!

Love how these advocates call the bluff on the dubious reasoning behind removing beloved diverter-lite planters: just bolt the damn things to the ground and keep it pushing.

Holman lane is one of my favorite hills in forest park. Yesterday I organized a little group run to go up and down it all day long. We raised a few hundred dollars for forest park conservancy! Perhaps I need to rally the runners for more hills repeat events soon 👀

we should tax Waymo for presence in portland, and have outsized penalties for them for unsafe driving, resulting in compensation to the city/citizens. This could fund public transit options (trimet) I don't understand the pdx approach to ban technology, rather than force it to become a net good

This is a "Jane Jacob's" classic take, which would be one of the most significant ways to improve Portland. It's slightly counter-intuitive from a left political perspective, but this area (zoning) is one where I firmly believe reducing bureaucracy, mandates, & laws would be a game-changer
