Sometimes you’re the guy who doesn’t read the replies before making the same jokes other people have, but you can always grow into being the man who deletes it when he realizes his error. At least until you’re old enough to get away with doing it intentionally and pretending it’s a lovable quirk.

I know Microsoft licensed the actress for Cortana’s voice for their pre-LLM system and I do think that one potentially interesting use-case for AI (provided you could do it ethically, e.g. using local models rather than data centers and responsibly paying your talent) is sports video game commentary

Bravely spending $1700 of my own business’s operating capital 50 times a day to make YOU, the PRIMARY INCOME EARNER OF AVERAGE SUBURBAN 2.5 CHILD NUCLEAR FAMILY, get mad enough that you have to practice those breathing techniques your cardiologist recommended

This is actually an easy mistake to make, he’s referring to my custom Road To The Show character, who is modeled after Ohtani, but had a big where dynamic difficulty got reset to beginner every time I reloaded the game and was a Cy Young finalist, golden glove winner, silver slugger, and also ROTY.

There were lots of WTF moments in the hearing on the subpoenas targeting NYT reporters and their families, but this “where’s the little bitch who filed this bullshit and why the fuck are you hiding from me?” moment may top them all.

Buckley: We would be prepared to immunize these reporters - our focus is on the leakers. Judge: Is Mr. Sullivan here? Buckley: Yes. In the gallery Judge: Why? He is on all the pleadings. Come up- we have extra chairs here. Good afternoon. Sullivan: Good afternoon

Yeah, I’m sorry, but “we didn’t bother to tell the judge that the subpoenas we were asking for were for reporters” is one of those stories that should end with “and that’s why we were all fired immediately for cause.” It well past time for judges to treat the presumption of regularity as dismissed.

Judge: You didn't tell the judge that the subpoena was about reporters, about the New York Times? Sullivan: We did not. It was an oversight. Later we did legal research. Judge: Wouldn't it have been relevant to know there had been public reporting? A: Yes

Awesome. Will he include the Greek gods in his historically accurate movie, confirming he spits in the eyes of Christianity and is an evil heretic, or is he a hubristic hypocrite that shows no reverence for the work he and his loser chuds claim is so important to die exactly as it is written?

JUST IN: Elon Musk says Grok will make a "full-length movie" of The Odyssey that is "historically accurate" by the end of this year.

As an undergrad, we had a discussion about optimization and I argued persuasively for the notion that improved optimization via technology was a predominantly good thing and I feel like the rest of my life has been an exercise in teaching me what a fucking idiot I was.

Perfect time for the World Cup to end, right as we get ready for some post season baseb…no. No. No fucking way. How many more games are people going to have t…60? Some poor schmuck is gonna try to enjoy their life some night and realize the only game they can watch, like Mets/Rockies, 60…more…times?
