What’s the best beginner Linux distro to recommend? Mint has old packages and is X11 so hard pass; Fedora doesn’t have codecs or something; Ubuntu is kinda cringe with snaps and its gnome tweaks—there doesn’t seem to be any good options.
I never got the hype of brave, seems like there’s a lot of shady stuff you have to put up with just to get a built in ad blocker. Just install ublock origin on Firefox

My opinions on fandom may have been slightly colored by getting death threats over the phone from adult Batman fans, but on the other hand I think that's a pretty fair thing to develop bias over.

A lot of technology like my Apple Watch or Beats Solo Buds just don’t work very well and creates a lot of hassle so I’m ditching them. There’s something freeing about ditching an overly complicated products that need charging for something simple.
