Reframing is a powerful mental tool! For example, I am no longer asking "how many yellow cardigans do I need?" but instead "how many yellow cardigans could I acquire if I really set my mind to it?"

Things I have looked up this morning for a short story which is currently only 900 words long: fish anatomy, 19th century rope, human anatomy, do sharks have red blood.

There are (unfortunately) many benefits to running but the best one has to be how good it feels to lie down after. Don't know what you've got 'til it's gone type phenomenon.

I've seen a lot of AI-generated writing for assorted reasons and for a few paragraphs you could be fooled that it was simply not very good human writing but after that it becomes staggeringly obvious it's AI-generated. If people are content with it, they are not and were never my audience.

29 | In an industry that is increasingly becoming saturated with AI-generated content, how do you feel about the importance of art & human creativity? (If this reads like an essay prompt, yes. Sorry. Teacher. 😅) Also, how do you fight against it? #SummerOfStories #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompt

You could fill a library with books I haven't written but the one that sticks around in my head is a fantasy pirate trilogy which is all about found family/sticking it to the man/love conquering all/the hot genderfluid protagonist which I have simply never quite felt up to the task of. One day!!

#booksky #specfic What if England never formed? What if by the turn of the 16th Century, Britain was still made up of separate, warring kingdoms? Meanwhile Europe & Asia has already formed the medieval EU & they've had enough of Britain being annoying? Is where my new book begins! *jazz hands*

Text reads "uh did you just write a novel about BREXIT disguised as a medieval fantasy with epic magic battles, a sentient border wall, and sword fights? That's right I did.

It would be easy to imagine romance novelists as warm fuzzy people who are all sunshine and rainbows and while that is true of me it is also true that I'm sitting here cackling over the breakup scene as I twist the serrated knife I've inserted between this poor man's ribs.

It's berry season and you have the tiniest friends. These critically endangered babies are Egyptian tortoises that hatched on July 4 and 6, 2026. Currently, our Egyptian tortoises are living behind the scenes in a warm and cozy habitat with lots of attention from their dedicated animal keepers.
