Why do I have so many weird tech experiments on my computer?? What was this game even going to be? What?
Had a chance to play Key Fairy today, which is available now on Ludolio! Owl Machine's ink-illustrated, pacifist bullet-hell about a tiny fairy untangling a cursed forest, one of the best-reviewed indies of the year, now available for classroom and library licensing.

Happy four year anniversary to our beloved Queer Man Peering. A game that completely changed the trajectory of our lives. 😘😘 It was such a difficult development, but after four years of working on Janet I’m starting to think that maybe that’s an ‘us thing’. store.steampowered.com/app/1711420/...

After 4+ years spent tinkering, Bravest Coconut is available on Steam. It's a Point & Click Adventure with no pointing and clicking, taking the quirky puzzles from games like Monkey Island and mixing with the exploration and action of retro Zeldas: s.team/a/2913190 #Godot #PixelArt #IndieGame

Almost all game genres need better names, and here are my suggestions: "Friendslop" - "Gaggle-Core" Modern "Roguelikes" - "Synergy Builders" "Walking Sims" - "Ramblers" "Soulslikes" - "Sad-Zone" "Cozy Games" - "Cottage Industrial" "Vampire Survivors-type" - "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh"
Friendslop is a horrid name and it has the same energy as gatekeeping BS like "game for casuals" from the 2010s and "walking sim" for narrative/exploration games. It's shit that 4chan doesn't like so they call it stinky names to try to push the idea that a category of games is "objectively" bad.
Key Fairy officially has a 100% "Very Positive" rating on Steam! People have been saying such lovely things about the game, and we appreciate every review! The game is still on sale for the next week, so now's the perfect time to get in on this game that 100% of people like!
Ok, I think what I'm trying to say is that: YOU CAN'T "WASTE" A GAME IDEA! If you make the game, and it's shitty, and dysfunctional, and fails to achieve your goals, then there's actually nothing stopping you from making it again. You don't use up your idea, you get a better understanding of it.

I played a bodycam shooter, a genre that I've avoided. Being an FPS guy means always wearing a shirt that says "I don't actually want to do this in real life!" When I play a bodycam shooter, I feel like I need more shirts. www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/th...

I've been following this game for ages! It's so freaky!
Studios didn’t hire me because I had no experience in gaming… so I decided to make my own. Here’s my first indie game: a 3D metroidvania called Maseylia - Echoes of the Past. It's Out Now on Steam ⬇️
Good game design is a cowboy, shooting at the player's feet to make them dance. Good design is a context for performance.
I do think there could be more public debate and dialogue, more spirited exchanges of ideas about what it is we’re all doing here when we review games. Tevis Thompson made IMO a very stirring argument 13 years ago and really, not that much has changed since then. tevisthompson.com/on-videogame...

I wish games media wasn’t so anemic that we exclusively praise (or stay quiet), only criticizing or arguing when one’s words are objectively bad (like genuinely harmful). I want more ppl to tell me I’m wrong & I want to tell you your review sucks & you to do the same & we all get better bc of it
I know this week is heavy. I know you’ve lost hope in the medium of video games. I know those brighter days where technology wowed you feel far away. but open this in your browser and bask in the enduring spirit of human ingenuity and connection messenger.abeto.co

It's 2025, no more "characters" in video games. All your NPCs have to be Autobiographical now.
