Hot take: guitars are not for playing chords, just because you can play chords on one doesn't mean you should. Chords are themselves a mistake, everything harmonically you think you need a chord for you get by simply playing notes sequentially in time. They are playing you for an absolute fool.

I agree with Sam that selection at 14 is a bad idea but the reason it keeps coming up is that there's a genuine problem we're not addressing with what school offers kids at the bottom of the academic distribution

Land Rover also does a Discovery Metropolitan edition. The name suggests it's for use in cities. Because you never know how high the kerb / cyclist / pedestrian you need to mount might be. And because there must be no limit to the pointless environmental harm you inflict.

I am increasingly baffled by TfL & @london.gov.uk building fantastic protected cycle routes, only to let Thames Water close them off with absolutely no alternative other than joining a busy road or trying to negotiate pushing a bike down a narrow pavement full of pedestrians.
