#HorrorWritersChat One of my stories that I have yet to add to my list on here that was inspired by IT is largely influenced by the town I grew up in. I tend to give my characters my issues, but that one is a love letter to the place I spent my formative years in

#HorrorWritersChat I give them history that doesn't even show up in the story because I just like making little guys. Everyone's haunted by something that's happened to them. Felix had a run in with Something as a kid that he still isn't sure was real or not, and underlies a lot of his behavior

Even fictional characters have a past. Q2: #HorrorWritersChat - How much history, how much of a past, do you give your horror characters? Share an example.

so when i have my medical anxiety spirals i like to read about health advancements and modern treatments to help calm me down, right? it's pretty effective! but it's also interesting to watch people finger wag and act like this is just allowing people to Cheat and Avoid Consequences

Don't let the Ai discourse discourage you aspiring writers out there. Art is valued by its rarity, and the rarest thing in the world is the talent of a single individual. What can be mass produced for cheap has little value. You are an original. A one of a kind. A bespoke wonder. Never forget that.

August approaches, which calls for my monthly reminder that my commissions are OPEN :D Want art of your OC, book or TTRPG character? Human, creature, and everything in between? Check out my links! Classic choices: vgen.co/Aowna For everything not listed, DM or email me! Reposts appreciated 🫡

Commissioned painting of a big blue dragon with orange and bone-white accents in his scales/horns/spikes. He has orange eyes and an open mouth, filled with sharp teeth and multi-colored blood. He is perched upon a castle's tower, styled after what we'd consider Gothic architecture.Digital painting (commission) of an anthro bird person with an eagle-like head, open wings, and fire powers. He is wearing lamellar armor and a feathered cloak.Commissioned digital painting. The image shows a white young man with blond hair wearing a blue suit and black gloves with silver rings. He is sat hunched over a glowing blue bottle that he's holding in both hands. A blue cloak is over his shoulders. I get the sentiment, but also most people don’t “care” about Jimothy. They are entertained by him and his popularity is going to get him killed. I would prefer we not compare disabled animals to disabled people because we don’t treat either with dignity or respect.
