Cripes. Just had a very strange, emotional moment of recall. That image of the clock with the rotating pattern around it was one I'd consciously forgotten but was still lurking in my subconscious. It used to fascinate me when I was tiny. I'd forgotten all about it for all these years. Cripes.

I attended a recording of Saturday Night Armistice in TVC. I remember the energy of the hosts bouncing around the studio cramming in as many surreal gags as poss, and being handed a plastic piece of meat when in-house cow-mad boyband Topside arrived. But also in awe of being in TV Centre.

Loved Saturday/Friday Night Armistice back in the day. The absolute best episode (in the opionion of this Irish man) was the one addressing the orange order marches in the North. The opening, demanding to march into the women's toilets because it was a gents 200 years ago was genius.

Can't believe nobody's yet mentioned the clearest Blakes's's 7 successor - the magnificent Farscape. Escaped criminal heroes, stolen ship with a personality (Zen/Moya), Servalan analogue (Grayza), Tarrant analogue with similar dress sense (Scorpius), evil empire (Peacekeepers) - it's all there.
