Seeing what happens here Great Plains Midwesterner Minneapolis

In theory, "advanced placement" course in high schools are meant to give students a head start on college-level work, but in practice these courses serve as *replacements* for that college-level work, and very poor ones at that.

www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202... Kind of interesting essay with a bad title, but IDK how you talk about problems in historical education today without even saying the words "advanced placement."

It is worth saying that it appears that the brave and principled actions of people of Minneapolis and the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good seem to have been a legitimate inflection point in American politics. We should carry that forward with us.

Steady. We have to win the midterms by a landslide—all energy there. Avoid falling for propaganda designed to break apart the Dems. If a candidate is too liberal OR not liberal enough—vote Dem, anyway—for now. Voting rights. Our environment. Women’s rights. We can squabble after we win! Steady.

Yes! Most of these moms in Mpls were driving children safely to elementary schools when their parents couldn’t, were stocking grocery stores in their own homes, were organizing undercover routes for drivers to deliver food and supplies—doing the real work, not performative work

The patagonia moms in question are objectively more radical than the self-styled revolutionaries who like to sneer at these protests.

other people can make inroads and find common ground with regretful trump voters, in my personal capacity as a private citizen i am committed to hating those dumb motherfuckers for the rest of my life

Seeing all the “professional” activists go after Stancil is negatively polarizing me into a stance that Minnesota is winning because it’s normal people rising to the occasion and pushing a lot of activist nonsense out of the way by doing it

Pretty sure Emmer has the orange king’s ear, telling him how popular he is throughout the entire state of MN and giving him bad advice about how we’d all riot and provide a reason for calling off voting

my expectation of democratic senators is that they find 1/10th of the bravery of your average 70 year old lutheran lady following ICE around mpls in her subaru crosstrek

Let him have time to see his friends his foes, And merry fools to mock at him resort; Let him have time to mark how slow time goes In time of sorrow, and how swift and short His time of folly and his time of ; And ever let his crime Have time to wail th’ abusing of his time.
