Some of you already know, but I thought I’d make it official here. I’m now in a relationship with a great man I met at a church picnic — how wholesome can you get, right? We were paired up for a cornhole match and we hit it off immediately! His name is Brad and he currently lives in Santa Fe. 1/2

Agree 100% with what Jenna says in this thread. But I truly believe that the death of mainline Christianity is NOT inevitable. There are a lot of folks out there who don’t know about us and might find us an agreeable spiritual home.
If you see this and respond "Good," you are required to actually look up the top 4 denominations and who you're talking about. The trans priests, the lesbian bishops, the Tim Walz guys, the Stacy Abrams women, sometimes the ONLY safe youth groups for queer teens, hosts of Meals on Wheels, NA, and AA
I've never bought a car by a US manufacturer and stuff like this will keep it that way, I think.
GM CEO Mary Barra is introducing Trump at his rally. Something to keep in mind if you're in the market for a vehicle anytime soon.
After almost 10 years, I finally realized the Sunday scaries aren't about fear of Mondays or the job itself. It's the shift from feeling like yourself all weekend to bracing for a version of life that completely drains you.
I have no kids. I am middle class. And I say: raise my taxes if you have to, but just provide breakfast and lunch to every school kid every school day without means testing.
The Seattle City Council just voted 6-3 to approve Joy Hollingsworth's amendment to delay universal school lunches for kids, replacing them with vouchers for qualifying low-income parents to buy groceries over school breaks and weekends. Eddie Lin, Alexis Mercedes Rinck, and Rob Saka voted no.
the reason we dont have medicare for all is bc corporations need employer based healthcare to keep you chained to your desk in a job you hate that doesnt pay you what youre worth
About 24% of U.S. employees stay in unwanted jobs just for health insurance, a report out Wednesday finds. Up significantly since 2021, the uptick in "job lock" is a concerning sign for the U.S. economy. n.pr/4gQIY5E
here’s my offer, The Atlantic magazine, I will read the next “reactionary pretends to give honest advice to Democrats” take if you let me write a piece where I, a DSA member, pretend to give honest advice to Republicans
“Democrats appear slow to recognize that ideologues on the left are attempting a hostile takeover of the party,” James Kirchick writes. In looking for a way to reclaim control, he argues, they could find inspiration in British history:
To witness the intellectual vacuity and apolitical posturing of a so-called "Christian middle" that ignores the demands of the Gospel, look no further than @christianitytoday.com. This is what moral cowardice and bowing to Mammon under a flimsy veneer of 'bothsidesism' looks like.
It’s not covetous to condemn wanton accumulation of wealth. It’s good moral sense. And, frankly, it’s Christian ethics.
So. I did it. Lotta people gonna be mad about this one. Show it some love?

being in the DSA is fun because you get to spend most of your time helping people with social anxiety canvass for democratic school board candidates and then go online to see people with blue wave emojis in their bios compare you to pol pot
Maybe the only way to truly love America is to tell the truth about this nation’s flaws, both past and present, while tirelessly working for the day when America finally becomes what it has always promised to be. Happy July 4th, my friends. We have work to do. open.substack.com/pub/zachwlam...

Fox News just might be the best free advertising the DSA has ever had!
Incredible moment where Fox News puts up a graphic with all the reasons it opposes the DSA and why people should be afraid of them
A reminder: Trans rights are human rights. Non-binary rights are human rights. Intersex rights are human rights. Asexual rights are human rights. Aromantic rights are human rights. Demisexual rights are human rights. Queer rights are human rights. Solidarity. 🏳️🌈
Seems the real problem centrist democrats are facing right now is the people are being very clear that they want leaders who will solve their biggest problems, and centrist democrats really don't want to solve their biggest problems and hate the people for wanting that. It's a real pickle for them.
There is nothing a conservative religious person who uses their supposed faith as a repressive cudgel hates more than the people under the same religious umbrella with progressive politics. We are a threat from the inside when we say YOU ALONE DO NOT SPEAK FOR GOD.
It is not a coincidence that the GOP is the party of religion, but only the "right kind". Brad Lander and Bernie Sanders are the wrong kind of Jew, Ilhan Omar and Mamdani are the wrong kind of Muslim, James Talerico and Sarah McBride are the wrong kind of Christian.
The antisemitism I’m seeing about Brad Lander today is wild. Unfollowing people I’ve followed for years who’ve lost their minds, saying he’s the wrong type of Jew and somehow all the Jews who voted for him were tricked into it. Some real bad shit from a lot of “we’re the normal ones” Democrats.
Live a life that is so rooted in love that no matter how much power someone has, they are still incapable of convincing you to hate other human beings.
This reflection pool fiasco is the latest reminder that we are experiencing the most aggressively unsmart administration in the history of the United States of America. Around each corner is another brooding mound of flagrant stupidity waiting to pounce on us.
It’s that time of year where people will say that it is too hot for coffee- These people do not understand coffee and are not to be trusted.
I can’t believe that Tucson is on this list. I lived there for 4 years and it was probably the best and most community-focused Pride event I’ve ever been to.
US: Pride events have been canceled in several states as LGBTQIA+ organizers point to a hostile political landscape prismreports.org/202... #transgender #trans #LGBTQ #LGBTQIA
My first one was Dudley's in Charleston, SC. But I will never forget my first visit to Backstreet in Atlanta (1988). It was the first time I saw so many young men dancing and having a good time and the first time I thought things were gonna turn out well for me as a gay man.
Ok let’s see the memories…. Happy Pride Month!
I’m at the centrist Dems rally and we’re all chanting our winning message: “actually our economic system is perfect and if you don’t feel like you’re benefiting from it that’s a you problem”
Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Adam Gray (D-Calif.) have launched what they hope will act as a rallying cry for centrists, declaring that “we are capitalist, not socialist.”
