So, I am not personally a visual artist, so I'm not doing artfight. I do, however, live with one, and have a PSA for all Artfighters currently in the throes of combat. *Points affectionately* Unshrimp your posture

I want everyone to remember that Y2K absolutely happened, and would have been devastating to global tech, if not for programmers working absurdly hard under crunch conditions to create a solution. Much like that, Climate Change does not solve itself. We need to put in the work.

oh yeah, in terms of good news- I haven't seen anyone talking about this??? In short- worst case scenario of 4C warming by 2100 is no longer possible, new worst-case is 2.8C now DOES NOT MEAN we just relax- the only way we got here is through hard work- but it means THE HARD WORK IS WORKING

There's been a lot of talk about fandom and how it can put horrendous pressure on creators, especially if the story doesn't go in the way that vocal factions wanted/expected it to. But it also places that expectation when it does. When the fandom enjoys. It's an issue of commodification (cont)

A long, rambling thought re: Human Sacrifice, AI Data Centers, War, Cultural Supremacy One of the things I still remember from grade school was the brief period we were taught about central/south American cultures in world history class.

The superbowl experience as recorded by someone working during it: -Sensory overload over the speakers at all times -Approximately 6 billion ads begging us to use AI (lol no) -Customers being racist about halftime show? being sung in Spanish -There was a sports game or something IDK

hey remember when a bunch of middle-aged drunk korean lawmakers climbed the locked gates to the national assembly to hold an emergency session after the president gave illegal orders to the military, all of which ended with said president being sentenced to prison

For those of us in the service industry and working the night shift, Happy Last Shift of the year and Sorry about First Shift of the year. I'm right there with you. May the customers be tolerable and our breaks be on time.

Say it with me: we would not be seeing this authoritarian censorship takeover in the United States, had both parties, the media and elite institutions not already greased the path with the muzzling of speech on Palestine.

I will remind folks those images of Nazi book burnings aren't burning just any books. They're burning the library of Magnus Hirschfeld; a gay, Jewish doctor who created an institute dedicated to LGBTQ sex education and healthcare. And a man who pioneered gender affirming care surgeries.

I think that something a lot of Centrist Dem candidates and lawmakers don't get is that their constituents understand the message when they announce who their acceptable losses are. That message being that they are willing to discard those they are supposed to serve if they think it will buy power.

Reminder: You do not recognize any protesters in any photos. You do not know them. You cannot offer identifying information. You will not talk about anything that could identify any protester in a photo on social media. You will not meme photos. Protesters who are identified turn up dead.

Infighting is a function of fascism. The scramble for personal power and recognition is by design so that none challenge the Party, only each other. The question was never whether or not it would come to blows, only what will be left to salvage of our social services in the wake of it.

The craziest thing about this fight between Trump and Elon Musk is that Republicans are trying to take away health care from 16 million people to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.

These days, I find myself thinking a lot about the saying "Truth is stranger than Fiction." Like Nietzsche's "God is dead," (Oh fuck what am I doing I just referenced Nietzsche on the internet) I've seen a lot of works in my years mocking the statement by taking it in the most literal terms. -
