Another example from today: I had to brake sharply to avoid being hit by a van on the way back from work, because the driver couldn't be bothered to check if anyone was coming on the cycle lane before he turned. Commuting by bike in Greater Manchester would radicalise almost anyone against cars.

So many drivers value two seconds of their life more than a cyclist's life. Like the guy who close passed me this morning to turn into the Sainsbury's car park literally two seconds earlier than he would've done otherwise. I guess those two seconds were so precious it was worth driving dangerously.

“Devolution by default” is the government's promise. But in Cambridge, an unelected Development Corporation will have powers that can override elected local authorities. Can the two principles comfortably coexist? Story by Stephen McNair.

Is this how to manage the growth of Cambridge?

The new Development Corporation is offering “infrastructure first” as a strategic approach to the development of the Cambridge area

Of course people are just copy pasting ai videos, there's money to be made. I think this is a fake "chloe vs history" video, I mean, more fake than the "original". Of course it's just as bad. Spot the mistakes in this one about the Black Death:

I kicked a can over yesterday, and that's that there are different definitions of the word "antibiotic" in use. Definition and usage of the term vary a bit between disciplines, between countries, in standardisation bodies, in regulatory/legislative definition, etc.

He has spoken about his past as a former extremist & warning about antisemitism. But there are potential elements of the patterm of some "formers" swinging erratically between different types of extremism, identifying as counter-extremists + using similar methods www.channel4.com/news/unmaske...

1/4 If Labour is serious about stopping the authoritarian right, it must rebuild trust by breaking with the very culture that feeds public cynicism. If we fail to change course, the winners will not be the public, but the billionaires.

French forces held a fierce defensive perimeter around Dunkirk and lost 18,000 souls. 40,000 became POWs. Without their resolve we wouldn’t have our nation’s story. It’s estimated 20-60k French resistance fighters died during the war. These fuckers really are vile bastards 😡😡

Anyway, the I-8 was specially modified for very long voyages. Japan and Germany were keen to trade scarce specialty materials and technology. The progress of the war meant that they were largely cut off from each other after June 1941.

One amazing thing about the I-7 and I-8 (for you pedants out there, they are the Junsen-class J3 of Japanese subs) is that they were designed and initially operated as underwater aircraft carriers. Yes, you read that right

Remember: When they come for female reproductive/pregnancy rights - Trans + people warned you When they come for gay rights - Trans + people warned you When they come for workers rights- Trans + people warned you Ignore August the 5th and they won't stop at us!

I mean, the point when Corbyn sided with Russia after Salisbury was the point when Labour activists started being chased off working class housing estates by people who'd decided Corbyn wasn't trustworthy. But I'm *sure* it would turn out differently if if was tried again.
