If you talk with anyone else, especially those who were in the Navy, they recognize how awful & dangerous this situation is, & feel for the sailors & their families. The USS Lincoln needs relief now & there needs to be a plan for all sailors & ships to have what they need.

I know it's really hard to avoid using things (esp tech) made by problematic people or that has a problematic agenda. That said, for #kidlit folks, there's alternatives to Substack that don't, y'know... actively promote Nazis. I'm just saying, it's not really brand compatible with kids books.

I was interviewed for that Atlantic article, not about Daggermouth (which I haven't read) but about HOW and WHY amazon's KU program are filled with slop. The difference between books looking for readers and books looking for page reads is not the same, that seemed worth explaining to a reporter.

The backlash must be swift and demand his resignation. This is an insult to all the people who fought to save lives, many of whom died because Trump and Kirshner sold our PPE so we had to have medical professionals wear garbage bags and reuse masks that cut their faces. My aunt died in a hallway.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

A very serious Rural Politico once told me "Dems have to go to farmer meetings! We gotta be where the people are!" I was in fact in a farmer meeting at that very moment! So I live-texted him the meeting. They were complaining that they want indentured workers that they don't have to pay or feed.

Well here's a crisis we can almost all do something about, so that's a silver lining

If you garden here at all, you know that it is incredibly easy to get too much sun. At the height of summer, my garden beds get direct sunlight for 15 hours. “Full sun” is usually defined as six hours.
