Jewish Lesbian, big dyke energy. Chicago's Voting Person. #GirlIGuess writer, editor. #FreePalestine #BlackLivesMatter #DecrimIL Opinions my own.

If he's going to get a national profile on the strength of a younger woman's campaign, I'm going to come out and say it: during his short-lived tenure as a math professor, Biss had an inappropriate romantic relationship with one of his undergraduate students. I was that student.

The push for generational change in the Democratic Party faces a test in a Chicago-area congressional district, where the top candidates span three generations: from Gen X and millennials to Gen Z. n.pr/3PD5bZ6

#GirlIGuess is revoking the endorsement of Elizabeth Christina Dibler for the 8th Subcircuit Gamrath Vacancy, due to her acceptance of the FOP endorsement. The Guide's longstanding rule is that FOP support is disqualifying for judges. We are instead endorsing Kathleen Cunniff Ori for this seat --->

#EarlyVoting starts TODAY in all 50 Wards and the suburbs, and while the world is a dumpster fire and the Federal government is the worst, we've got a chance to fight back at the polls between now and the 17th. Whether you're in the City, in the suburbs, or in our new readership hotspot in Aurora...

One of the world's leading pinkwashing organizations, A Wider Bridge, who were behind the session that precipitated the 2016 Creating Change protests, and perpetrated the 2017 Chicago Dyke March disruption is ceasing operations at the end of 2025. Let me be the first to say: good fucking riddance.

Stratton is rushing (smartly) to roll out endorsements with the hopes of clearing the field. There are some folks she won't be able to scare off (Krishnamoorthi, likely Frerichs or Kelly), but being able to prevent even one challenger could have massive downballot implications. Early race to watch!

Tammy is a true leader for Illinois who doesn’t back down from a challenge. I'm so grateful to have her endorsement in my campaign for United States Senate.

Please repeat over and over: “Bending to the whims of a bully will not end his cruelty. It will only embolden him. The response to authoritarianism isn’t acquiescence. Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only: a punch in the face.” —Gov. JB Pritzker

moving forward I would like to see dems gum up the works every way possible. No unanimous consent, full votes on every tiny piece of business. I don't expect everyone to have the stamina to do a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, but many lengthy floor speeches. Just slow everything down to a crawl.

And finally, before I sign off for the night, a quick update on this race. The right-wing culture warrior got 11.9% of the vote and ended up in 5th place (out of 6) The pro-DEI liberal got 23% of the vote and won a seat on the City Council THE SUBURBS DEMAND WOKENESS! bsky.app/profile/uncr...

There's a local race here in the Chicago suburbs this Tuesday where one of the candidates is a far-right journalist that's running mostly to ban some books from the local library. His opponent? A candidate who's proudly pro-diversity, equity, & inclusion. Downers Grove, please don't blow this lol

Well that was fast 🙄 We tried to warn people about EOB, but folks would rather be scared and wrong than have their civil rights respected.

Here’s a revenue idea that City Council should work on passing before next budget season: tax side yards appropriately. This Lincoln Park home at 2242 N Wayne is for sale for $2.7m. You’ll notice it has a side yard on the lot next door (2240 N Wayne). 🧵
