I think there's a misunderstanding about how much communication occurs between a team's sports science staff and front office/coaches/player dev/athletes/etc. I've spoken to multiple sports scientists for multiple teams in multiple leagues. It's a lot less than you'd think, on average.
Another study on youth transition that find that about 97% of all youth who says they're trans turn out to be. Only 1.1% who start HRT stopped it for any reason whatsoever. This is, like, the fifth youth transition study that I'm aware of, and all of their results have been identical.
