If you're crawling back to X and posting ridiculous sob story "wah wah I had to because of whatever" posts then you probably didn't leave for the right reasons in the first place. It's a moral stand, it's supposed to be uncomfortable and difficult.

I really think I'm gonna mad here. If Brexit after being passed by a referendum doesn't have durable consent, then why would Rejoin need a referendum to secure it!?! Complete underpants gnomes logic
This is well worth a read on the need for *durable* consent if/when rejoining the EU. For the very same reason, I don't see how a referendum could be avoided (politically).
Will #BBCR4Today please stop obsessing about the "Triple Lock". It's not a good look when overpaid journalists with gold plated pensions actively promote cuts to one of the meanest state pensions in Europe.
Lethargy in place of strategy. New post on my fortnightly Brexit & Brexitism Blog looking at the urgent lessons from the Reform mega-donations, Piddington, and the growth of the far right; reset inertia; and the real lessons from Canada & Carney: chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com/2026/09/leth...
In my ongoing quest to help #SaveSquareChapelArts in Halifax, I’ve written a short poem. I do hope you like it. 🤞 If so… please repost. Thank you. x
If you could take a minute to read this and, if it takes your fancy, then re-post it… I’d be so grateful. 🙏🏻 I’m doing my utmost to #SaveSquareChapelArts for the good people of Halifax & far beyond, and I need all the help you lovely lot can give me. Thank you! x www.canncomms.co.uk/post/actor-a...

I want to support Labour for obvious reasons but again and again they make it impossible, playing directly into the hands of extremists. It’s not like there are no precedents for their appeasement. Aren’t they scared of where we are & their part in that ? www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm5yjzj8l5k5o

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.
So today I got another example of why I don't trust AI. I asked it to tell me how to do comething complicated on my PC. Something I've done lots of times but so long ago I wanted a reminder.
Could govt explain to the majority of liberal, progressive voters in this country why our genuinely legitimate concerns - about the rise in racism and flag-waving thuggery on our streets, are repeatedly brushed aside while they pathetically pander to the racist angst of a nasty, uninformed minority?
It’s not too late to stop this madness - the government has said the uk mega donors are a problem. The lords can bring in a cap on UK donors to stop any attempt to buy the next election. Share this and ask your MP to join us protecting British democracy.
One of Chris Grey's more important posts. And it really needs saying and repeating
A picture of post-Brexit Britain. New post on my Brexit & Brexitism Blog on a fortnight of ugly political scenes, why a government-led counter-narrative on asylum is needed, and why these domestic political events are a national security issue: chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com/2026/09/a-pi...
As both an academic and a writer, I am repelled by the "this looks like a long document. Would you like me to summarize it for you?" that seems to appear at the top of every pdf viewer now. NO. The *entire point* of good writing (either books or journal papers) is that every sentence has a purpose.
You might have to turn up for the results of this one, Nige.
Turns out that if you are an old lady with a banner supporting Palestine, the government arrests you on charges of terrorism. If you are a masked white male thug bringing a national port to a standstill, the government does absolutely nothing, and the media covers it like some lads on a day out.

I’m going for a viewing at #SquareChapelArtsCentre Halifax tomorrow, to see what state it’s in after it fell into darkness. Even if I’m unable to save it (& I’d dearly love to) let’s hope there’s some kindly, art-loving benefactor out there who cares enough about it to do so! 🙏🏻 🤞 🙌
1/2 On EU, the Tories aggravated me. So did Starmer and his stoopid 'red lines' And McSweeney and the lot of them. Burnham, and the continuation of those 'red lines', and the whole Darth Mahmood xeno-racism continuation? I have got beyond interest. They have bored me, someone who followed this.
I would love to breathe new life into this little gem… but I NEED funding! I may well eventually turn to you good people, but if there’s an arts-loving benefactor out there who fancies putting their shirt on a passionate, highly-qualified player, then do give me a shout.🙏🏻 Please RT, folks! x
Oh my… if only I had the money (or the backing) I’d buy this place (adjacent to The Piece Hall in Halifax) & run it as Artistic Director. I was once its Patron. A jewel in Yorkshire’s magnificent crown, please someone rescue/revive this little diamond. 💎 🙏🏻 www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/people/...
Brexit Britain is still a tinderbox. New post starting the 11th year of my Brexit & Brexitism Blog with analysis of a long, hot summer of Brexit stasis & dishonesty & the reasons for it, Clacton, the Arday case & the culture war: chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com/2026/08/brex...
I'm so bored with this. If Burnham, like Starmer, thinks Labour's 'red lines' are unmoveable for political reasons then, ok, I understand that. But to then keep pretending there is some 'ambitious' deal possible that will discernibly increase UK growth is just absurd. www.ft.com/content/4ec5...

The reaction to the former Cambridge academic’s death reflects some pretty alarming trends in our society
They forced the guy to resign. More than sufficient punishment for the crimes he supposedly committed, but that wasn't enough for them . The vicious smears and culture war triumphalism continued unabated. The UK MSM is a disgusting sewer full of vile amoral bastards.

Laughable. This would not "require renegotiating" the Brexit deal as BBC claims, since there is precisely zero prospect EU would even contemplate negotiating about this. And in any case they all have the right to UK citizenship! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Reform UK benefits ban for foreign nationals would include EU citizens
The move would require renegotiating the UK's Brexit deal and could risk stripping British expats living in the EU of similar rights.
