Watching Roku... just commented to the wife how the definition of "live TV" used to be "things happening right now that happen to be televised" and now it means "pre-recorded shows but you watch whatever is being shown"... which is just regular TV

Getting sick of modern internet journalism: "translator's rant", "she... savaged it". I read Emily Wilson's review of the movie and found in neither a rant nor savage. I've read savage rants, this was not one, but rather a strong criticism that someone may not agree with. Stop the hyperbole.

In no way a defense of Trump (who I despise) but if you truly believe American elections were always "free and fair" in the past, you may want to take a quick look at Jim Crow and Women's Suffrage. Those in power always tried to limit who was allowed to vote.
Clicked on an interesting headline linked to an opinion article, then realized it was written by Jonah Goldberg so that was a minute of my life wasted.

Just read the Compact Comics edition of DC THE NEW FRONTIER by Darwyn Cooke (and wonderful talented others). I own at least 4 copies of this in different formats so I am definitely a fan. I loved this on first read, but honestly my feelings today are a bit more complex.
NO SPOILERS Watched the first episode of STUART FAILS TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE and enjoyed it, but I'm not convinced (yet) that there is enough there to last 10 episodes. Willing to give it a chance and hope I will be proven wrong.
#SDCC comic con: our daughter left her 3D printed black dragon in the restroom near E/Starbucks. She printed it herself and is devastated. We checked the restroom and lost and found which means someone picked it up. If you bring it to 5552 I will give you a signed comic as reward
NO SPOILERS Just watched new episode of STAR TREK STRANGE NEW WORLDS s4 e1 and I give it a solid B. Some nice character moments, a lot of trekkie nonsense, some fun costumes, and hopefully no super consequential meta-plot to ruin the season. Not a blockbuster, but worth a future rewatch. YOMV.
OK folks, Andrew Tate is scum and deserved to be locked up for life, but mocking a man for wearing femme clothes is the weapon of the enemy. There are so many righteous things to mock him for.
No offense to the poster, but I just read a post with the term "celebrity investor" and almost laughed my ass off. Again, no offense to the person who wrote that, just the entire concept of a "celebrity investor" is absurd in any sane, just, moral universe.
Just read the Compact edition of Gotham Central (first of many I hope) and goddamn that is masterclass comic brilliance. Ed Brubaker, Greg Rucka, Michael Lark. A book so good it would make a Bishop kick a hole in a stained-glass window. I read this back in the day and loved it, and I love it again.
Sorry to co-op the Muppets for politics, but who would prefer these guys over RFKjr to run the Dept of Health?

Last night I read GALAXY THE PRETTIEST STAR by Jadzia Axelrod and Jess Taylor (and other brilliant people) and it was not what I expected but it was everything I needed. A great book, one of the best I have read in a long time. I admit I teared up a few times. A definite recommend!

Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.
FREEDOM FUEL? What sort of sit com country have we become? Admittedly not as bad as the evil and corruption of the Trump adminstration, but the sheer banal pandering and low class hucksterism is just disheartening.
If I was in charge, it would be illegal to have a commercial disguised as a news segment. All these funeral policy commercials are egregious.
Workers need to know signs of heat illness, because once it’s severe it may be too late. Every supervisor is responsible. It’s their duty to make sure workers aren’t killed by heat at work. Call 911 for serious symptoms in yourself or a coworker, no matter what the boss says. 8/
Forcing a truly feral cat into an indoor lifestyle can be incredibly stressful and frightening for them. Cats are trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to the place they know best, where dedicated caregivers continue to look out for them. Not every cat wants to be adopted.
